Agewise

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 16, 2026

Agewise AI Inc. (“Agewise,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates agewise.ai and the related Agewise services that help older adults and their families explore senior living and retirement community options (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25), and other applicable privacy laws.

How this policy applies

Agewise has two connected surfaces, and this single policy covers both:

Each section below notes which surface it applies to. In short: the Directory browsing section governs anonymous browsing, while the account, AI assistant, sharing, communications, retention, rights, and other sections govern the account-based app. The remaining sections (security, international transfers, children’s privacy, third-party sites, changes, and contact) apply across both surfaces.

Directory browsing (no account)

This section applies when you browse the public directory without signing in. The directory is designed to be browsed freely, and we do not ask for your name, email, or phone number to view any community.

What we collect when you browse

Community and regulatory information

Listings are built from information communities provide and from public records, including the Ontario Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority (RHRA) register. We publish business and regulatory facts, not personal information about residents or staff.

When you continue into the Agewise app

When you choose a “see if this fits” or “get help” option, we create a short-lived, anonymous link that carries which community or care type you were viewing — not who you are. That link expires within minutes and contains no personal information. Once you sign in to the app, the account-based sections of this policy below apply.

Creating an account & using the app

This section applies when you create an account or use the Agewise app and AI assistant.

Information you provide. When you use the app, create an account, complete onboarding, or interact with our AI assistant, you may provide information such as your name, email address, phone number, location, the care needs and preferences you tell us about (for example, budget, desired amenities, care level, and move-in timing), the people you are searching on behalf of, and the contents of your conversations, messages, and requests.

Information collected automatically. When you use the app, we automatically collect technical and usage information such as your device and browser type, IP address, pages and communities viewed, search queries, referring URLs, and interaction events. We collect this information using cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies and analytics below).

Information from third parties. We may receive information from authentication providers when you sign in, from retirement communities and operators you interact with, and from analytics and infrastructure providers that support the Services.

We use this personal information to:

The AI assistant (Avery)

The app includes an AI assistant (“Avery”) that uses your inputs and preferences to provide information, suggestions, and search results. To generate responses, your conversation content may be processed by trusted third-party AI and infrastructure providers acting on our behalf under confidentiality and data-protection obligations. Avery provides informational support only; it does not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you, and its outputs are not a substitute for professional medical, legal, or financial advice.

How we share your information

We share personal information only as described below. We do not sell your personal information.

With retirement communities, when you ask us to. A core purpose of the app is to help you connect with senior living communities. When you request a tour, ask a question of a community, or otherwise consent to be contacted, we share the relevant information you have provided (such as your contact details and stated needs) with that community or operator so they can respond to you. You control when this happens.

With service providers. We share information with vendors who process it on our behalf to operate the Services — for example, cloud hosting, authentication, email and SMS delivery, telephony, and analytics providers. These providers are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us.

For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information where required by law or legal process, to protect the rights, safety, and property of Agewise, our users, or the public, or to investigate or prevent fraud or abuse.

In a business transfer. If Agewise is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

Aggregated or de-identified information. We may share information that has been aggregated or de-identified so that it can no longer reasonably identify you.

Electronic communications and consent

Where you have consented, we may send you commercial electronic messages (such as emails and text messages) and may contact you by phone in connection with the Services, consistent with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). You can withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails, replying STOP to a text message, or contacting us at the address below. Some non-promotional messages necessary to operate your account or respond to your requests may still be sent.

Cookies and analytics

Cookie practices differ between our two surfaces. On the public directory, we run cookieless, first-party analytics on our own servers by default: it records no personal information and sets no cookies, so it runs without asking for your consent and cannot be used to identify you. In the account-based app, we and our providers use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, measure performance, and understand how the Services are used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Services function.

Optional analytics cookies (directory). On the public directory we also offer optional analytics cookies that load only if you select Accept in the cookie banner. When you accept, Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google LLC) acts as our processor and receives this analytics data for aggregate traffic and page-usage measurement. It typically collects a truncated IP address, your device and browser type, the pages you view, interaction events such as clicks and scrolling, and a pseudonymous client or session identifier — not your name, email, or phone number. This is not advertising: we do not use this data to target ads or build a marketing profile of you. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the site footer, and declining does not change how the site works.

Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it. For the optional directory analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 retains data according to its own configured retention window, and the small cookie that remembers your accept-or-decline choice lasts about 180 days.

How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your privacy rights and choices

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, withdraw your consent to certain uses, or ask us to delete information we no longer need to retain. You can also update much of your information directly in your account settings. To make a request, contact us using the details under Contact us below; you may also direct your inquiry to the Privacy Officer of Agewise AI Inc.. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Because we do not collect personal information when you browse the public directory, there is nothing tied to you to access or delete there; if you want a listing corrected, use the “report incorrect information” link on any community page.

Data storage and international transfers

Agewise is based in Canada. Your information may be stored and processed in Canada and in other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where information is transferred across borders, it may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, and we take steps to ensure it remains protected consistent with this Policy. In particular, if you accept the optional directory analytics cookies, Google is a global provider, so your analytics data is processed by it outside Canada, including in the United States, under its own privacy and security terms.

Children’s privacy

The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Third-party websites

The Services may link to third-party websites, including the websites of retirement communities. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
