Extendicare Mississauga provides group and independent recreational, therapeutic, and social activities seven days a week, including holidays. Monthly activity calendars incorporate five domains of well-being: physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and social. Programs include exercise classes, music therapy, reminiscence programs, cultural celebrations, and holiday events. Spiritual services include worship for various denominations, hymn sings, prayer meetings, and memorial services. Occupational therapy and physiotherapy available. Programs developed with resident and family input.

Dining

All meals and snacks are prepared on-site from scratch ensuring maximum freshness, taste, and nutritional value. Residents enjoy three meals daily plus snacks. Menus are changed twice yearly with input from residents and families, offering a wide variety of nutritious options. An in-house registered dietitian develops individualized nutritional care plans in consultation with residents and families. Specialized diets accommodate diabetes, heart disease, and other conditions. Texture-modified and therapeutic diets available. Cultural and ethnic dietary preference honored.

The Meadowvale Village area offers many amenities for seniors. The Mississauga Seniors' Centre provides crafts, billiards, and special events. The Active Adult Centre has over 80 weekly social, recreational, health, and multicultural programs, including fitness and day trips. For recreation, the Meadowvale Community Centre has a fitness center with accessible machines like NuStep, plus Zumba Gold and low-impact classes.
